Scuba Tour Championship 2021 – Slaley Hall Golf Resort

92 proper golfers headed up north to Slaley Hall Golf Resort in Hexham Northumberland and took part in this year’s Scuba Tour Championship on Sunday 15th & Monday 16th August. The competition was played over 36 holes, 18 holes on the Priestman & 18 holes on the Hunting golf course with the format being combined stableford over the 2 days. We saw some fantastic scoring after the first round with the clubhouse leader in with 45 points which again was fantastic given the fact the first round was heavy rain for the majority of the round.

Heading into the final round it was all to play for with the leader on 45 points, with 40 points trailing and 10 people on 39 points. The sun was shining and course was fantastic and it was all to play for.

Majority of the golfers struggled on the 2nd day playing the Hunting Course with the leaders falling away from the pack and opening it back up to the rest of the golfers. Some may say it was too much shandy from the night before but who knows.

After 36 holes of championship golf there could only be 1 winner.  Kevin Haley carded a combined total of 76 points (-4 under) to claim the title and be crowned this year Tour Champion Golfer.

Massive congratulations to Kevin and again a huge thank you to everyone who entered this year’s event which saw Record numbers yet again.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the 2022 event and remember, Don’t just be a golfer be a Proper Golfer.
